This term we have celebrated Chinese New Year with a rabbit collage, Chinese number hunt and lantern making

Well done to those children that are reading everyday and accessing Reading Eggs, we have given out some certificates for children that have read over 100 times since they joined us in September which is fantastic! Keep it up !

In Maths the children have been working with numbers to 10 and using the part part whole model. Looking at how we can separate the number and write the number sentence too. After half term we will be looking at numbers bonds to 5 and 10 and quick recall of the number facts.

In Literacy we have been looking at the story of Baby Mouse and what happens when she gets lost down the wibbly wobbly lane. We also looked at our different journeys to school and what we see on the way. After half term we will be focusing on the stories  Farmer Duck and Jack and the Beanstalk.
Please keep supporting your children at home with their phonics and writing. You can use games on Phonics Play, Reading Eggs and Cbeebies. For more ideas please speak to your class teacher.

Our focus book for reading has been We’re going on a bear hunt and the children have enjoyed acting out the story and making music to the story to add effects. Next week we will be looking at Nursery Rhymes and focusing on Poetry with the poem ” Zim Zam Zoom” . After half term our first focus book will be Biscuit Bear.

We have made some really positive changes to the learning environment and the children have adapted to them really well. They are well on their way to become independent learners and have enjoyed using lots of the new resources we have out for them to use.

And a big well done to Conkers on their Winter themed class assembly! They were all brilliant!

Thank you for supporting Conker class in their class assembly and also supporting us with our Amazon wish list . We have already had a few books delivered and the children cannot wait to read them!
