Music at Wigmore runs through listening, singing, playing, composing and evaluating. Children work across a wide range of periods, styles and traditions, and build their skills year on year.
Most year groups follow Charanga, an online scheme covering the whole National Curriculum. Children play glockenspiels and untuned percussion in their practical work. Years 1, 3, 4 and 5 are taught by Luton Music Service instead.

Music beyond the classroom
Children sing together in weekly singing assemblies, and perform in concerts across the year. Some children take small group percussion tuition or join the school choir.
The choir takes part in Young Voices concerts and the Singing Spectacular, held in the summer term and hosted by Luton Music Service. Year 4 pupils have also taken part in a composition project with English National Opera.
