It has been a wonderful fortnight across the school, and I am delighted to share a few highlights with you.
Focus in the Classroom
During my regular drop-ins to lessons, it has been fantastic to see the children so settled and focused on their learning. We are currently placing a strong focus on developing oracy skills across all year groups, alongside refining our curriculum adaptations to ensure every child is supported and challenged appropriately. A crucial part of this work involves reviewing the children’s books and listening to their thoughts and opinions about classroom life, their voice is invaluable in helping us shape the best possible learning environment.
Green Thumbs and Extra-Curricular Fun
Outside the classroom, I recently had the pleasure of spending time with our expert young gardeners, who are now reaping the rewards of their hard work with an impressive harvest. The children will also be thrilled to know that after-school clubs restart next week. All relevant details and communication regarding club arrangements have now been sent out, so please do check your messages if you haven’t already.
Early Years Fundraising Disco
Finally, I would like to extend a huge thank you to our brilliant Early Years team for organising last night’s fantastic disco. It was a wonderful event (with some great dancing tunes provided by one of our ex-pupils), and all funds raised will go directly towards enhancing our Early Years provision. Thank you so much to everyone who attended and supported the evening.

At Wigmore we have to aim to be here every day! Excellent attendance is 97% or above. There are strong links between good attendance and good progress in school, both academically and socially. We want to be the best we can possibly be and reach our school target of 97%. We have to make a concerted effort in order to improve attendance and punctuality.
