The children in Foundation have been enthusiastic about learning  the story of Baby Mouse. They have learnt the actions to the story and some key vocabulary. They have also started to write simple words from the story, e.g. cat, dog, met and rat.

In Maths the children have been learning all about 2D and 3D shapes. They have been detectives looking for shapes in the environment and have done some printing using 3D shapes.

Our Topic has been ‘People Who Help Us’ and we have had a visit from Mr Paul the school crossing patrol officer and Mr Fletcher, the school medical officer. The children had the opportunity to ask questions and find out a little more about the valuable work these people do to keep us safe.

Other areas of learning have included Bonfire Night, Diwali and Remembrance Day.

The children in Foundation have a lot  to look forward to over the next few weeks.

We will be thinking about journeys we have been on and using our imagination for going on a special journey.

In Maths we are learning the concept of one more and one less and will be doing practical activities to reinforce this.

Our Topic will be exploring the Nativity story and how people celebrate Christmas. We have already started to practise for our performances on 7th and 9th December.

The following pictures show some of the aspects of learning the children have engaged with in the three classes. Well done to you all- your work is amazing!
