Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope everyone is well and has been enjoying the fantastic weather on offer over the last week.
This week in school the children have been focusing on increasing their awareness and learning linked to keeping themselves safe in and out of school. The children have attended workshops led by Bedfordshire Police and staff from Inspire have also focused on water safety. Thank you to staff who have organised these opportunities.
It was great to see a huge number of children last Friday for their reward for reading regularly at home. It is clear that we will have some children earn their Reading Ambassador badges by the end of the academic year. Thank you to the parents, carers and staff who are doing a great job ensuring their children are reading regularly at home. It makes a significant difference.
Last Friday Year 6 had individual photos and class photos were also taken. These photos should be with you very soon. It was pleasing to note the effort made with wearing correct school uniform on this day. It is important that all families make a concerted effort to wear the correct school uniform as outlined on our school website. Thank you to those who organised the logistics of having so many photos taken of children and staff!
The sporting involvement and success of the young people at Wigmore continues to be prioritised. Over the last 2 weeks we have had children take part in Quad Kids Athletics events and football matches. Thank you to those who have organised these opportunities.
It has been great talking to the young people in Year 1 about their class trips to Whipsnade Zoo. Thank you to everyone who has helped out to make these memorable days out of school for the children.

ATTEND TO ACHIEVE!
At Wigmore we have to aim to be here every day! Excellent attendance is 97% or above. There are strong links between good attendance and good progress in school, both academically and socially. We want to be the best we can possibly be and reach our school target of 97%. We have to make a concerted effort in order to improve attendance and punctuality.
Every minute of every lesson counts!
Be in to win!
Be on time and in school every day!
