Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach the final days of the academic year, I want to take this opportunity to look back on what has been a remarkably busy, successful, and vibrant term at Wigmore. Our children have achieved so much, and none of it would be possible without your continued partnership, encouragement, and support.
We have packed the last few weeks with incredible learning experiences, trips, and community events:
- Community Connections: As part of the Linking Network Programme, our Year 5 children thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Wenlock, and we were equally delighted to play host and welcome Wenlock’s pupils to Wigmore.
- Musical Milestones: The school has been alive with music! The children absolutely shone during our Singing Spectacular, and the energy at our recent Rocksteady assembly was unforgettable.
- Tech & Innovation: Members of our Year 6 Coding Club had a fantastic afternoon at Tui. We are incredibly grateful to Tui for partnering with us to provide such an inspiring, hands-on learning opportunity.
- Wild Adventures: Year 2 and Year 5 made the most of the glorious summer weather with a brilliant and educational trip to Whipsnade Zoo.
- Sporting Success: Our young athletes represented the school with immense pride, determination, and sportsmanship at the Town Athletics Finals held at Stockwood Park.
- Class Showcases: Thank you to all the families who joined us for our sharing assemblies. It was wonderful to watch Year 1 Birch, Year 4 Maple, Year 5 Linden, and Year 5 Beech share their hard work and creativity with you.
- Looking Ahead: Smooth transitions are so important, and the children showed great maturity during our transition morning, where they thoroughly enjoyed visiting their new classrooms, meeting their new teachers, and exploring their new playgrounds. We also have some exciting Lego workshops coming up for several of our classes to round out the term!
Celebrating Our Year 6 Leavers
Our Year 6 pupils are preparing for the next big step in their educational journey. Their Leavers Assembly was nothing short of amazing, filled with wonderful memories, laughter, and perhaps a few tears! The celebrations aren’t over yet, though; next week, they can look forward to their highly anticipated residential trip and the school disco.
To all of our Year 6 children, as well as any families, children, and staff members from other year groups who are leaving Wigmore this summer: thank you for everything you have contributed to our school community. We wish you all the very best for the next part of your journey. You will always be a part of the Wigmore family.

At Wigmore we have to aim to be here every day! Excellent attendance is 97% or above. There are strong links between good attendance and good progress in school, both academically and socially. We want to be the best we can possibly be and reach our school target of 97%. We have to make a concerted effort in order to improve attendance and punctuality.
