Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you are all managing to keep cool and comfortable during this spell of warm weather!
First and foremost, I want to extend a massive thank you to all of our families for your incredible support and understanding. We have had to implement several different arrangements recently to ensure we managed the challenges associated with the heat safely, and your adaptability has been greatly appreciated.
Warm Weather Reminders ☀️
As we head into the final three weeks of term, the sun shows no signs of letting up. Please ensure that every day your child comes to school with:
- A refillable water bottle
- A sun hat
- Sunscreen applied before coming to school
Did you know? Skin damage later in life is very often linked to UV exposure during our formative childhood years. Taking these quick steps each morning makes a massive difference in keeping our children safe for the future.
Incredible Fundraising News! 🏃♂️💨
I am absolutely thrilled to share that our Wembley to Wigmore and Fun Run efforts have officially raised over £20,000! This staggering amount will go directly toward some fantastic improvements for our school playground. A huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who ran, cheered, organized, and donated. You are amazing!
Sports Days & Governor Visits
We have had a brilliantly busy fortnight across the school:
- Sports Days: A huge thank you to Mr. Marshall and Mr. Whadcoat for their fantastic organization of our sports days over the last two weeks. It was wonderful to see the children participating with such enthusiasm and team spirit.
- Annual Governor Day: Last week, our governors spent the day in school. They had the opportunity to visit classrooms to see learning in action and completed training on several of our ongoing school improvement projects. Thank you to our governors for their vital, continued dedication to our school.
Trips, Visits, and Future Steps 🚌
Our curriculum has truly come alive outside the classroom lately! Over the last two weeks, we have enjoyed:
- Early Years: A wonderful visit from Teaching Talons, bringing nature right to our youngest learners.
- Year 1: An exciting and educational trip to the zoo.
- Year 2: A very important and informative Fire Safety visit.
- Science Museum: A trip to London for some of our wonderfully curious scientists.
Thank you to all the staff and volunteers who made these enriching experiences possible.
Meanwhile, our Year 6 cohort took a big step closer to their next adventure. Representatives from local high schools have been in to speak with them about their upcoming transition. It is an exciting time for them as they prepare for the big move!
Looking Ahead
It has been an incredibly busy and rewarding fortnight. I will write to you all one final time this academic year on Friday 10th July.
As always, thank you for your continued support in everything we do with your children.
Mr Johnston
