Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope everyone is keeping well. This will be my final blog for 2022 and as you are aware there are always a number of exciting events happening in schools at this time of year so please keep an eye out for specific letters and reminder text messages.

It has been great to welcome so many parents and carers into school over the term for Black History Month, Anti-Bullying Week and Christmas Arts and Crafts. We have more exciting learning showcases planned for the Spring term.

Lots of exciting things happening in and around school over the past fortnight and many thanks to those individuals who have taken part in and helped to organise the following opportunities for our school community:

  • Maths Parent/Carers Workshop
  • Pine Class Assembly
  • Famous Women in History Assembly
  • St Andrew’s Day Assembly
  • Key Stage 1 Sports Hall Athletics
  • EFL Cup Football Tournament for the Year 6 Football Team
  • Year 3 Reading morning with parents and carers
  • Celebration Assemblies
  • Christmas Arts and Crafts Workshops
  • Key Stage 1 singing practices for performances.
  • Early Years Nativity practices for performances.
  • Value of the month assembly – kindness, let’s be kind in the way we approach all aspects of our lives.

ATTEND TO ACHIEVE!

At Wigmore we have to aim to be here every day! Excellent attendance is 97% or above. There are strong links between good attendance and good progress in school, both academically and socially.  We want to be the best we can possibly be and reach our school target of 97%. We have to make a concerted effort in order to improve attendance and punctuality.

Every minute of every lesson counts!

Be in to win!

Be on time and in school every day!
