Dear Parents and Carers,
The Spring term continues to fly by at an incredible pace! It has been wonderful to see the school bathed in sunshine this week; the apricity, that unique warmth of the sun on a chilly day, has felt truly amazing and has certainly put a spring in everyone’s step.
A World of Reading
We have just wrapped up a spectacular World Book Day. It was a true celebration of reading across the entire school. From the “fantastic” costumes to the high-energy activities in every classroom, the building was buzzing with literary excitement.
The highlights included:
- Author Visit: A huge thank you to our guest author for inspiring our budding writers.
- Book Fair: It was wonderful to see so many children choosing new stories to take home.
- Special Menu: Our kitchen team outdid themselves with a themed dinner menu that was “fun for all.”
Science and Song
Our curriculum has been brought to life recently with some very special guests. Last week, we welcomed an array of birds of prey to the school. This visit provided a brilliant link to the children’s Science work, allowing them to see these majestic creatures up close.
In the hall, we’ve been treated to some exceptional talent:
- Class Assemblies: A massive well done to Conkers and Elm classes for their informative and entertaining assemblies.
- Guitar Club: Our young guitarists gave an exceptional performance that hit all the right notes!
- Musician of the Month: All our musical efforts this month have been inspired by the legendary Freddie Mercury and Queen. It’s been great hearing the children engage with such iconic music.
Sports, Skills, and Support
Our pupils have been busy representing the school in various football tournaments, showing great sportsmanship and teamwork on the pitch. Meanwhile, some children who have been involved in Bikeability have been honing their cycling safety skills.
A huge thank you to everyone who has signed up for the Wembley to Wigmore fundraising walk. Your support for our school projects is greatly appreciated.
Looking Ahead: Attendance and Growth
As the weather improves, we are continuing our drive to improve attendance and punctuality. Every day in school counts, and we want to ensure all our pupils are here to benefit from the rich learning opportunities we provide as we head toward the end of the term.
The final day of term is fast approaching, and we are going to be counting down to our “Do Something Different Day.” It promises to be an event the children will not want to miss!
Finally, our school tours have been incredibly busy lately. As our pupil numbers continue to increase, we are proud to be a growing community. If you know of any families moving into the local area who are looking for a school place, please do put them in touch with us.

ATTEND TO ACHIEVE!
At Wigmore we have to aim to be here every day! Excellent attendance is 97% or above. There are strong links between good attendance and good progress in school, both academically and socially. We want to be the best we can possibly be and reach our school target of 97%. We have to make a concerted effort in order to improve attendance and punctuality.
Every minute of every lesson counts!
Be in to win!
Be on time and in school every day!
