Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope everyone is keeping well.

Well done to our Year 6 children who have negotiated the end of Key Stage 2 SATS this week. Their determination and commitment to doing their best saw them rise to the challenge this week. Thank you to all the staff who have supported them so well throughout the week and in the lead up to these assessments.

Last week in school our Art subject leader (Miss Bloomfield), two senior leaders (Miss Islam and Mr Clarke) and one of our school governors (Mrs Dove) completed a deep dive into the Art curriculum at Wigmore. It was great to listen to their feedback on the learning that is taking place in this area of the curriculum. Thank you to the adults involved and to the children who were able to talk about the skills they have been learning in school.

School photos have been taken at Wigmore today. These photos will be available to parents and carers soon. Thank you to those involved who have organised the logistics of taking so many photos of children in one day.

Well done and thank you to the children in Year 5 Hawthorn for leading a fantastic sharing assembly this week. Thank you to the parents and carers who were able to attend.

A huge thank you to the staff and children who were provided parents and carers of children with SEND an insight into the work they are doing with sensory circuits. I know the children are benefiting enormously from the hard work of Mr Marshall, Mr Whadcoat and all of our fantastic teaching assistants.

Well done to the children in Year 1, 2, 3 and 4 who have represented the school in recent Quadkids Athletics events over the last two weeks. Some of our Year 1 and 2 children also took part in a football tournament. On Sunday a group of children attended a London Lions basketball match at the Copperbox Arena in Stratford. The children always represent our school so well. Huge thanks to Mr Marshall and Mr Whadcoat who give up so much of their time to ensure the children have access to such amazing learning experiences.

Over the last few weeks it has been pleasing to note our attendance and punctuality rates have improved. Please keep up the good work with ensuring your child is on time and in school daily.

ATTEND TO ACHIEVE!

At Wigmore we have to aim to be here every day! Excellent attendance is 97% or above. There are strong links between good attendance and good progress in school, both academically and socially.  We want to be the best we can possibly be and reach our school target of 97%. We have to make a concerted effort in order to improve attendance and punctuality.

Every minute of every lesson counts!

Be in to win!

Be on time and in school every day!
